I've been taking photographs for 39 years. In fact, it's the only thing I've done my whole life without fail. I am in my twelfth year of professional photography. I don't promise perfection or high-end portraiture. What I DO promise is heart, hard work, a knack for quickly developing rapport with you and your family, and a bunch of photographs I hope and pray you will treasure for a lifetime.

During our shoot, I take as many photographs as I'm able. After the shoot, I spend quite a bit of time culling through the collection of unedited photographs. In other words, I go through ALL the photographs I took - usually three times through - and select ONLY the very best to bring to professional editing. Please note that the number of photograph I professionally edit depends on the package you selected. Once I have professionally edited all the very best photographs from your session, I upload them to a photo sharing site. You will receive a link to your collection along with two passwords; there you will be able to download your professionally-edited photos. You have full rights to use and print your edited photographs however you wish. The typical timeline for receipt of your final edited photos is 3-4 weeks from the date of your shooot, but turnaround time can range anywhere from 1-6 weeks depending on time of year and how many photo shoots I have in line to edit before you. Process is different and more lengthy for senior photos. For senior photo shoots, I thoroughly cull through the unedited photos and deliver a proof collection, then you look through and make your final selections, and I professionally edit your selections and make final delivery. Regardless of what type of photo shoot you purchase I will keep you updated on my editing timelines so you are not left in the dark about when they will be delivered.

Full payment must be received BEFORE I deliver your final, professionally-edited photographs. You can pay with CASH at the time of the time of the shoot, or I can send you an INVOICE via email which you can pay with credit card. Please note that checks are no longer accepted.

My recommendation for what to wear is to simply be yourself. Wear something you feel comfortable in, something you feel beautiful in, something that represents you, your personal style, and your best self. Anything that's hip and colorful, natural and neutral, cozy and comfy, stylish and sassy, classy and timeless will work! If you feel good about what you are wearing and how you are presenting yourself, you will feel better during the shoot and your photos will turn out better. Please feel free to ask me for any suggestions you have about clothing choices. I am more than happy to review options in advance of the shoot if you are having a hard time deciding on one outfit vs. another. That goes for you and your whole family if you wish!

what to wear

I moved to the Nashville metro three years ago, so I'm still building up my repertoire of best locations for photo shoots in the area. That means I have some suggestions for locations, but am also open to new suggestions! When we are at the point of choosing a location, I can share some options based on preferences you have indicated, but you can also send me ideas and I can research or go check out the location in advance of our shoot so I know if it will meet our needs. Here are a few locations that have worked great to date:

Outdoor photo shoots are weather permitting. If we schedule photos and the weather is rainy, stormy, uncomfortably cold, snowy, or unusually foggy the day of the shoot, we will determine a mutually agreed upon date to reschedule. If weather is questionable, we will jointly make a call as to whether or not we will proceed with the shoot based on monitoring the weather forecast, observable outdoor conditions, and our conversations in the 48-hour period leading up to the photo shoot.

location

All photo shoots are on location at an agreed upon outdoor destination or in the comfort of your home. If you are purchasing a Mini Story 1 package, I require selection of a location that is a maximum of 30 minutes driving distance from my home. If you are hiring me for Your Special Event package, I require a minimum of 1.5 hours for anything up to 45 minutes driving distance from my home. For all packages that are NOT MIni Story 1 and Your Special Event, I am willing to photograph anywhere within a 45 minute driving distance from my home. For anything that requires MORE THAN a 45-minute drive, a small surcharge will be added to account for extra gas and time for the shoot.  When you contact me to schedule, please include your desired location so I can determine the feasibility of a shoot.
